Keylane today unveiled Keylane Automate, a cloud-native, AI-first platform designed to embed governed artificial intelligence into the core processes of insurers and pension administrators across Europe. The platform, announced on 8 October 2026, lets organisations build, test and run AI agents and workflows on top of the operational data in their policy and pension systems.
No-code agents, SDK and system integrations
Keylane Automate offers both a no-code environment for business teams and a software development kit (SDK) for developers. Customers can choose pre-built agents or create their own to automate tasks such as claims handling, underwriting, participant communications and file processing. The platform is built to integrate with Keylane’s core systems — including Axon (non-life claims) and Plexus (life and pensions) — and with other systems in a client’s IT estate.
Focus on governance and European compliance
Keylane emphasises governance as a foundational element of the product. Automate includes audit trails, configurable human oversight for higher‑risk decisions and controls designed to keep organisations demonstrably compliant as regional AI rules evolve. Data is hosted on European infrastructure and the vendor positions the product to help customers align with emerging regulation such as the EU AI Act, which categorises some insurance and life-risk scoring systems as high risk.
Bridging legacy systems and AI ambition
The company says the platform overlays an intelligent orchestration layer on existing core administrations so that legacy technology no longer limits where AI can be applied. Keylane highlights that its systems already support the administration of more than 37 million policies and pensions and that more than 550 organisations use its platforms daily.
Co-innovation and industry positioning
Keylane will develop Automate further with customers through a co-innovation programme that prioritises real-world use cases over a fixed roadmap. The firm also published a companion report, “Innovation Built on Trust”, arguing that reliable sector data and governance — rather than model capabilities alone — determine how much value AI delivers in insurance and pensions.
What executives say
Keylane’s chief executive framed the launch as a step to speed up operational improvements such as faster claim handling, better risk pricing and more responsive participant services while keeping regulatory and reputational risks under control. The company’s CTO added that giving operational teams direct access to AI development and deployment reduces the time between idea and production use.
Market context
The launch comes amid growing interest in using generative and applied AI across financial services, and at a time when European regulators are increasing scrutiny of AI use in high‑impact areas. Keylane positions Automate as a sector-specific option that combines deep domain data with governance features to help regulated organisations scale AI safely.
